Here are the simple ABC’s of web development.
A. Graphics
Graphics is very essential in web development because this is what visitors gauze your site if it is worthy of their time.
So what really makes a graphic to be effective?
First, the graphic should be small. Consider using images that are 10 to 12 KB per image because if you will use larger images, it will slow down your site.
Visitors to your site will likely to leave if your site takes too long to display so it is better that you use images that are attractive and easy to load.
Second, when it comes to graphics, you have to use images that have direct relation to your site. You would not display an image of Hollywood artist to promote the product you are selling, as this will cause confusion to your visitors.
Lastly, blinking graphics are not ideal in web development because blinking objects are really annoying and distract readers. More often readers leave web sites with excessive flash or blinking objects most especially when these objects hinder them from reading the whole web page.
B. Advertising
Advertising is lifeline of web sites and you have to handle them effectively to ensure success of your site.
When in comes to advertising, you have to remember two things, the number of ads and how related it is to your site.
The number of ads should be just enough to give room to other contents of your site. If they are overlapping contents of your site, then maybe that is why your site lags behind in web searches.
Next, you should only post ads that related to products or services offered. If they are related, your readers will likely to open the links to your ads but if they are not related the ads might not be opened.
In the end ads generate income but if they are driving your visitors away, then maybe its time to remove some of your ads and just stick the ones that are related to the content of your site.
C. Web Content
Content is also another essential factor in success of your site. It will be better if you have articles that your visitors can read on a daily or almost weekly basis.
Informative content will likely to increase your visitors as they will bookmark your site and then send your links to other friends and family members to invite them to visit your site as well. But for others to recommend your site, you really have to offer not just ads or graphics but rich and informative content.
For example, you are selling a product, it will be better if the site not just offer the products but also give tips on “how to-” like how to choose, how to use and where to buy.
Meanwhile, if you are maintaining a web blog, make sure that the site is readable and the topics being discussed are really interesting.

So you are passionate about a particular subject and you want to take your passion online. At this point you may not know where to start and this is where I hope I can help you. After all you deserve to share your passion with others and they will benefit from it also.
The key to building any website is to build it with your visitor in mind. What can you truly do for them that will add value to their experience when visiting your site? Let’s take for example that you enjoy building model planes. The first place you are going to visit is the online forums.
The reason I choose forums is because this is where conversations take place relative to any given topic. This will give you a measure of interest. The first step is to see how up to date the forum is and secondly how many posts it receives per day. Additionally how many people respond to those posts on any given day?
Obviously the more the better, the more interest the better for you. The next thing you are going to look for is, what are the questions being asked and can you engage in the conversation and offer solutions. If this is the case your next task is to look for keywords. What keywords do people use to seek out solutions for their needs?
The next thing to do is look for a keyword tool. I am going to use Google’s keyword tool for this example. Keyword tools by the way are not by any standard of the imagination an exact science. They give you a rough guide as to how many times a given keyword is searched. So do not think that the numbers you get are exact.
Your task right now is to develop a list of keywords.
Once you have this list you are now going to look at the level of competition. Starting out we do not want too much competition but remember competition is good as it means there is money to be made in that market.
We at this point are just looking for cheaper ways to enter the market. To do this enter your keyword into the search box in quotes. Then check how many websites are coming up for that keyword. If it is in the millions that is not good if it is in the thousands then that is great.
You will now be refining your list based on competition. Once the list is completely refined you will now have the general structure of your site. These keywords will make up individual web pages.
To conclude this is how to lay the foundation then once you have these keywords you will be ready to structure each of the pages on your site using each individual keyword with content relative to that. To learn how to put all this together select any of the links provided.

Have you ever wanted to make a website? Here’s how to make your own website for free. And, if you want a little more from your sites, I’ve got a few extra tips as well.
Building websites can be done for very little money nowadays. Most money is spend on hosting and a domain name. A domain name is something like www.example.com. If you want your own domain name, you’ll have to pay for it. They’re cheap, costing less than $10 a year. However, this article is about how to make your own website for free: I’ve got other options for you.
Many websites offer free hosting. Often this goes hand in hand with commercial ads on your pages which will totally ruin they way your website looks. I could give a lot of links to good free hosts, but some of them change their policies and it’s better to search for a few for yourself. You can weigh all the pro’s and the con’s of each host.
A piece of advise: don’t rely too much on review sites. Most of these sites are build by hosting companies themselves, in order to attract more visitors to their service. If you’re looking for paid hosts, be doubly careful!
Hosts often allow you to use your own (paid for) domain name, but most of them will also offer a service where you can get your own sub domain. You’ll be able to get a domain like: ’subdomain.example.com’, where ‘example’ is the host’s name. This is a pretty nice, cheap alternative to a paid for domain name.
When you’ve found a free host, you can upload your html files to the server. Often you can even build your website online without having to do any uploading. However, creating your own site gives you much more freedom and flexibility over what goes on your site. You can use a wysiwyg editor to build a site quickly, good ones are available for free on any good software site, or you can code the html by hand. Most professionals are coding large parts of their sites by hand, because it gives them more control over all the details.
So there you have it: find a free host, use a free sub domain and you can make your own website for free in no time. Good luck!

Every one of us wants to create a successful website. No one wants to fail. As a consequence of this many of us are out there looking for the silver bullet. Now to me the silver bullet lies within you. You are the key to your success. Of course this sounds nice but how can it be applied in practical terms?
Firstly you like anyone else go online to seek solutions. Your idea right now is that you want to make money. So you are going to search out opportunities that enable you to achieve this.
As a result of this you are going to come across a lot of information and the information that seems the most believable to you is the one you will choose to obtain. However there is also another element at play and that is emotion. The site that outlines the benefits that speak best to your emotional desires will be the one that you approve.
To build a successful website you can use yourself as the model. In other words when people visit your site are you going to outline the benefits that speak to their emotional desires and furthermore will you provide proof by helping them to connect the dots which will make it believable for them that they can reach the goal that they desire to reach.
If your website is built in this way where you genuinely help others achieve their objective then your site will be naturally successful. It really is as simple as that but that does not mean that the work will not be challenging because it will - but if you are determined and build you site with the visitor in mind then the rest is history.

Some products are offered via subscription but many entail a one-time purchase and the software can be easily loaded onto your computer. Once you decide which product is right for you, you will need to organize your materials for the site and you may also want to plan a schedule for updates. The following text is filled with tips to help you build your family website.
Before delving into the content of your website, the following software products may be worth checking out as they have solid reputations in their field: WebEasy, Photo.web, Macromedia Homesite 5, Macromedia Dreamweaver MX, Microsoft FrontPage or NetObjects Fusion MX. Certainly there are others, but by putting a good amount of time into this purchase, you can find a product that suits your ability and lifestyle. The next step is finding a host for your website. Frequently internet providers (like AOL or Earthlink) offer such services (at minimal or no charge) to their customers), but an internet service provider is a necessity for getting your page on the net.
The content and organization of your webpage can also be adapted to taste, but generally, family websites include some of the following inclusions: family news, achievements, school projects, genealogy research (family trees), photos, artwork, vacations, trips, activities, sports, reunion planning or similar events, calendars, tributes or memorials to other family members, information about pets or hobbies, etc…Some family websites include local information about what is happening in their locale, church, work, etc…
For security reasons, it may be a consideration to check into password protection access for your site (only friends and family may access your page). Another security measure may be simply to eliminate surnames, addresses or anything you do not want the general public to know. For children’s websites, the extra security measures are suggested. You can even register your domain name by proxy giving you an extra layer of anonymity that is important in such cases.
When deciding on page layout, try to keep your pages short. The most essential information-your upcoming trip to Catalina Island-should be conveyed near the top. It helps to treat your page like a newspaper. The most important or newsworthy items up front. It’s also a good idea to keep the page looking neat and well-organized. A page that is filled up with clutter can be off putting.
Your main page may be similar to an elaborate table of contents. For instance-Katie’s wedding (as a headline) and one picture of the lovely bride should be enough to lure your readers into a page specifically about the event. Each subsequent headline may serve as a link to more expanded information: David’s Promotion, Lorraine’s Prize-Winning Quilt, Our Church Picnic, Snoopy’s 1st Day of Obedience Class, Granny’s Class Reunion, Rachael’s Tennis Season, Luke’s Matchbox Car Collection and so on.
Pictures add so much to a website, but place them with care. Your main page may feature a header of the family faces and each item in your “table of contents” may feature a thumbnail or small photo associated with the headline. You want to prepare your photos before uploading them. Many photos need to be resized as they may contain too many pixels for a website. Your software will address this issue. You can add photos via scanner, digital camera or even a disk where photos have been stored.
Besides photographs of people and events consider photographing other items of interest like children’s artwork, paintings, your home, your garden, letters, school notes, newspaper clips, event programs, report cards, sentimental items, etc…Many family websites also offer family films or recordings as well. Take time editing your pictures and use only those that truly capture the event or provide a clear shot of the person.
Playing with your photo-editing software is good practice-most pictures require lots of editing before upload. Consider using design features like black and white or sepia tone pictures for old-fashioned charm. Don’t forget to add captions for your pictures! Grandma wants to know if that’s Bill or Bob under all that hockey gear. Part of the photo-editing process might even entail captions placed within the photograph.
Once you have your items for inclusion, be sure to upload them to their own special niche in the website. Avoid lock blocks of text. Add snazzy headlines and various colors for font. You can add absolutely anything you like to your site, but be sure it is placed in its appropriate space so it may be easily found by your readers. Family websites are celebrations of family life-tailor your site to match your family’s collective personality and be sure to give each family member adequate space in your arrangement.

Many people who own businesses want to create a website, but don’t know how. Websites can have a tremendous impact on the amount of sales received, and can help increase productivity.
There are really only two things however holding people back.
The first is a lack of knowledge. People simply don’t have the technical skills to create a website.
The second is lack of money. People don’t want to spend thousands of dollars to create a website for their company.
In the traditional method of creating a website, someone would first have to find a web host. These range anywhere from $3.00 up to $200 a month, the average being around $10.
Next they would have to create the website itself. They could either create it using html or hire someone else to do it. Html takes a lot of technical skills, and requires a lot of time to do. Hiring someone else on the other hand requires no, or little skill, however requires a lot of money. Often you would have to pay someone thousands of dollars to create the website for you.
Finally you would have to hire an SEO consultant to research keywords, and help to advertise your website. This also would cost thousands of dollars, and would probably be around 3,000-7,000 dollars.
Today however people use a different, much simpler method of creating a website. They do start with a web host, but that’s were the site creation process changes.
After finding the web host the person creating the site uses software called a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get). This allows the person to just point, click and type to create their website. WYSIWYGS are very simple to use, and they save much time, money, and energy.
The website creator can then use SEO software instead of hiring an SEO consultant. This also helps save them time and money.
Of course there are also problems with these methods. First of all WYSIWYGS and SEO software aren’t free. WYSIWYGS usually cost $300-$400 and good SEO software costs $300 per year!
The second problem is that since all of these tools are separate, you have to go through the process of getting all of them to work together. For example, you have to upload all of your pages to your host. Things like this require technical skills, which you may not have.
The third problem is that there is still a lot of work to be done once you create, your site, and upload it to your host. You still have to promote your website. The SEO tool will help you discover good keywords to use for your site, but it will not promote your site for you. You have to go through the trouble of manually submitting your websites to search engines (Google, Yahoo, etc.), then you have to submit your site to directories, then you have to pay for advertising, and you will have to do many similar things.
These things can add up to hundreds of hours, and thousands of dollars spent on building your website. However it may be worth it if you can get that much money from new sales, which you probably can.
SBI is an all in one solution for anyone looking to create a website. It gives you all of the tools that you need in order to host, build, and promote your website. SBI will help you save money, and help you make more sales. It is much cheaper than doing all of this separately.
